At the moment the situation in Greece is very complex, because the pressure on the coastal part of our Islands continues. At the same time the decisions that were taken on different summits, began to be applied in the right way. As you know, on March 7, the EU meeting with participation of Turkey, which is considered the key side of the migration issue.”

We took the responsibility to take tens of thousands of refugees. We have a difficult situation because, on the one hand, we are faced with the pressure of these streams, on the other hand we have to accept some of the refugees. We are actively working on it. The Greek people showed a high level of hospitality and good response in emergencies. I’m sure we will have a satisfactory result for all”.
“We need to understand why a person leaves his home and goes, takes his family and subjected to such tests and even danger, said Danae-Magdalini Koumanakou. – Of course, they leave to save their lives. At the same time we believe that the Syrian issue is in the negotiation process. Cannot be only a military solution. If the ceasefire becomes a daily reality, local residents will not want to leave their country”.
