“Crimean authorities warned the United States than ending the pressure on Russia”

The Deputy Chairman of the Crimean government Ruslan Balbec commented on the statement of U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry that Washington continues to put pressure on Russia regarding Crimea.

“The U.S. government should carefully study history to remember, than has ended all attempts to put pressure on Russia… All were waiting for the political collapse and oblivion. Anyone with power will not be able to intimidate Russia and to diminish the will of Crimeans”, — quotes the words of Balbec RIA Novosti.

The day before in the defense Ministry commented on the statements by the Pentagon about the so-called “Russian threat.” The official representative of Department major General Igor Konashenkov said that such statements of Americans are linked to discussions of the military budget in Congress, said the TV channel “Star”.

Recall, Sevastopol and the Crimea became part of Russia according to the results of the referendum in 2014. Reunification with Russia was supported by 96,77% of Crimeans and 95.6% of Sevastopol. Kiev and some Western countries refused to recognize the results of the referendum and imposed sanctions against the region and Russia as a whole. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that the issue of the status of Crimea is closed forever: the Peninsula is part of Russia.
