Guide of Vilnius was unanimous for perpetuating the memory of Russian politician Boris Nemtsov killed in Moscow on 27 February 2015. The faction of homeland Union – Christian Democrats of Lithuania (conservatives) put forward a proposal to perpetuate the memory of Russian politician Boris Nemtsov, who was killed last year on the Big Moskvoretsky bridge near Kremlin.
The proposal of the warden faction of Mykolas Majauskas a few days before the first anniversary of the death of Nemtsov, was supported by the General agreement of the politicians of the capital city of Vilnius.
The adopted resolution States that “calling the name of Nemtsov, a man who fought for a better world with democratic Russia, square or street of Vilnius, we can remind them of their commitment to be on the side of a free, open and democratic world”. This document obliges the administration of the Vilnius municipality to prepare the project, reports Delfi.
The member of the Seimas, Emanuelis Zingeris, thanking city Council members for the decision, noted that the authorities of the Lithuanian capital has satisfied the petition of the daughter of the murdered politician Jeanne Nemcova.
But in Moscow, the proposal to rename Big Moskvoretsky bridge in honor Nemtsov’s support is not yet found. As said a year ago the co-chair of Parnas Mikhail Kasyanov, Boris Nemtsov should be immortalized: “It must be the Germans the bridge,” he said. This idea was supported by the representative of movement “Solidarity” Sergey Davidis, reports RIA Novosti.
It was also suggested to establish a monument on Great Moskvoretsky bridge where he was killed the politician. However, the city Commission on monumental art unanimously voted against. However, Vice-mayor Leonid Pechatnikov said the official refusal of the proposal of the liberal Dmitry Gudkov capital to rename objects or to establish a memorial Board.
