U.S. media on Wednesday circulated information in which it is reported that representatives of law enforcement agencies of the United States held a special meeting at the White house to discuss escaping from under the control of the States, the situation in Syria and possible ways of “complications of life” Moscow in the region.
In particular, the meeting was attended by the head of the Pentagon Ashton Carter, CIA Director John Brennan and Chairman of the joint chiefs of staff U.S. army General Joseph Dunford, according to the U.S. edition of the Wall Street Journal, citing a source in the administration of President Obama.
According to the “high sides” to expect that the announced truce in Syria will persist for a long time, is not necessary. And the party that first violated the ceasefire, according to American security officials, will be Russia. Therefore, Barack Obama must develop an alternative plan for Syria.
According to the source, at the meeting it was emphasized that it is necessary to remember the tragic history of the military conflict in Syria.
“The truce will fail and this will happen through the fault of Moscow. It is therefore necessary to create a Russia in serious trouble,” said CIA Director John Brennan.
The interlocutors stressed that replacement plans are not directed against Russia as a whole, but only against her policy in the SAR.
“We will judge Russia by its deeds, not by words. This approach was retained after the announcement on Monday on a ceasefire in Syria… Russia plunges into war on the side of the dictator, and this quagmire gets annoying If Moscow does not change course on the support of the government of President Bashar al-Assad, then Russia will suffer the same fate that she herself had brought,” – said at the meeting, adding that it is, for example, on the introduction of new restrictive measures against Russia, as well as “leak” of intelligence and the supply of arms suitable for defeat of manpower and aircraft to the Syrian opposition.
“However, this could provoke a serious escalation of the conflict and thus is not preferable,” added a source in the White house, making it clear that the bulk of advisers of U.S. President Barack Obama supports a policy of “tightening the screws” against Russia.
We will remind, on the Eve of the representatives of the Russian Federation and the USA agreed on the date of ceasefire in Syria, which is scheduled for February 27.
