However, it may be that this amount will not seem so huge, when you consider that this “souvenir” is a major rarity now in the world there are only a few of the condoms from the innards, and most of them are located in museums, reports the Mirror.

In the middle ages condoms from the innards of animals were less rare. Most often they were made from the intestines of sheep, pigs, calves and goats. The cost of condoms was quite high, so used them, mostly wealthy people. For this reason in the nineteenth century, they quickly went into disuse with the invention of cheap rubber.

Bidding for a condom from the past were quite active, and the amount for which it was sold, making it the most expensive such product in the world. The buyer knows only that he is a resident of Amsterdam.

Interestingly, the length of the means of protection from sheep intestines is about 19 inches, with most extant condom that time has the size of 15 inches, and the average length of the product being produced today is 18 centimeters.
